Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an
Ayurvedic herb which has a strong impact on anxiety, stress and cortisol. Most commonly
sourced from roots or leaves of the plant, in India, the root extract
containing Withanolides, and the leaves containing a compound known as Withaferin-A.
Withanolides are the researched ingredients in the extract, and so a
standardized root extract is chosen. As an adaptogen, it’s commonly used to
treat anxiety, stress on the body and mind, and the formation of memories.
The Ashwagandha root extract that is
used is standardized with 2% Withanolides. The recommended dosage is 300-500mg,
however it can be taken up to 1,000 mg per dosage, many time through the day.
